Brentwood Christian Wins TAPPS District Art Meet

Brentwood Christian School won first place Friday in the District 3A Art Contest in the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools, outscoring the second-place school, Round Rock Christian Academy, by 70 points.

With 237 points overall, 32 pieces will go to state, with four first place creations by Serene Normal, including her senior portfolio. Other students winning first places include Michelle Dembosky, Nicole Glenn, Elise Lilya, Marisol Lawson, Skylar Treut-Shaffer, and Tiffany Truong.

BCS students won 10 first places, six second places, six third places, 11 fourth places, three fifth places, six sixth places, and two honorable mentions.

“This is an unprecedented number of entries qualifying for advancement to state,” art teacher Lori Morin said. Winning entries varied widely, including  various categories of drawing, graphic design, painting, computer-rendered art, relief, printmaking, photography, sculpture, fashion, on-site drawing, and history.
