Brentwood Christian School takes sweepstakes title at TAPPS district 3AAA academic meet !

BCS put on an impressive show to win TAPPS district, scoring 156 points overall in this academic and speech meet on February 10, 2011. Austin Concordia High School took second with 100 points and Round Rock Christian Academy was third with 78 points. Other schools competing were Temple Central Texas Christian School, Austin Regents School, San Marcos Baptist Academy, New Braunfels Christian Academy, and Hallettsville Sacred Heart Catholic School.

The Most Outstanding Student Award--tournament MVP--went to Daniel Gardner of BCS, who scored 30 points, winning two of his events, placing in all four of them, and advancing to state competition in three of them. He was also named the top student in the chemistry section of the comprehensive science test. Brentwood's Min Cheol Shin was the student with the second-highest individual points at the meet.

BCS event champions: Bear Facts newspaper, Daniel Gardner (Science and Calculator), Polly Park (Number Sense), Min Shin (Advanced Math), and Carlos Franco (Spanish).

Following are results for all BCS students who placed in the district meet. Those in boldface will advance to state competition at Concordia University in Austin on Friday and Saturday, April 1 and 2.
