College Counseling

Brentwood Christian’s College Counseling Program works closely with students and their families in finding a college or university that will enrich the life of the student - a place where each student can build on the already strong educational foundation established at Brentwood Christian School and further develop their God-given talents. 

I begin meeting with students and parents in the freshman and sophomore years to provide an overview of Brentwood Christian’s College Counseling program and the college search timeline.  In addition, programs on special topics related to financial aid and the transition to college are scheduled throughout the school year to provide further information for students and their families.  In the junior year, I meet with each student and a family member to assess individual interests and strengths, research and explore schools that offer the kinds of environments and programs the student is seeking, and set realistic goals as he/she makes decisions about his/her future.  By the start of senior year, most students have narrowed their college lists and are ready to apply.  I am on hand to meet with them, answer questions, and assist them with the timely submission of their applications.

Throughout the search and application process, I encourage each student to take responsibility for his/her college process.  I am always available to support and facilitate the process, but believe the skills and maturity a student gains as they explore options and make decisions about his/her future will continue to serve them well in college and beyond.
