Standardized Test Scores and SAT Rankings

Achievement test results are in, and once again they are very strong. Brentwood Christian School students scored higher than 97.9 percent in the nation. Scores are comparable to last year’s; they are exceptional compared with all schools nationwide (private and public) taking these tests. Our research has shown that the Iowa tests are the most highly respected of all the major nationally standardized tests (the other leading ones being the Stanford and the California tests).

The Iowa Tests of Basic Skills (ITBS) were administered to students in grades one through eight, and the Iowa Tests of Educational Development (ITED) were administered to students in grades nine through eleven. Students in grades three, six, and nine also took the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT), which provides a measure of abilities rather than achievement in skills. All tests were scored by Riverside Scoring Service using 2000 norms.
