BCS Places Second in TAPPS State Meet E-mail
Untitled Document

Brentwood Christian High School finished the TAPPS academic season in a strong second-place finish in division 4A, with Incarnate Word Academy of Corpus Christi topping BCS by seven points, 86 to 79, to win the championship.  The state meet was held on the campus of Concordia University in Austin on Friday and Saturday, April 9 and 10.

Leading the school’s team (and earning the most points of any student at any school) was senior Matthew Gardner, who placed first in all four of his events:  Science, Number Sense, Advanced Math, and Computer Science.  Also earning a state first-place award was the school newspaper, Bear Facts.

Adam Cammack added to the total with two second-place finishes, in Social Studies and Computer Science.  Polly Park was fourth in Number Sense and sixth in Advanced Math.  The Duet Acting team of Gabe Breternitz and Caleb Kronke finished fourth, Stephen Yu finished fifth in Mathematics, and the Bear Tracks yearbook took fifth place.

Congratulations to these outstanding students, their parents, and their teachers and coaches!
