Brentwood Places 2nd in State PSIA E-mail

Brentwood Christian School elementary and middle school students placed second in the state of Texas at the PSIA AA (large school) state tournament on Saturday, April 24, competing with students from 102 schools across the state.

 BCS took second in the middle school division, grade 6-8, and eighth in the elementary division, grades 1-5.  PSIA director Dr. Patricia Walters will be traveling to Austin in May to present the second-place middle school trophy to Brentwood Christian.

 These outstanding students led BCS to this academic triumph:

  • Luke Allen – 1st in Spelling 5, 2nd in Vocabulary 5
  • Tiara Allen – 1st in Spelling 6, 2nd in Vocabulary 6
  • Andrew Armstrong – 1st in Math 6, 1st in Calculator Applications 6-8, 2nd in Music Memory 6/7, 4th in Number Sense 6-8
  • Haleigh Heath – 3rd in Dictionary Skills 4/5
  • Aaron Ho – 1st in Mathematics 8, 1st in Number Sense 6-8 (with a perfect test)
  • Brendan Hollaway – 4th in Mathematics 6
  • Haley Hutson – 6th in Impromptu Speaking 7/8
  • Michael Lam – 6th in Mathematics 7
  • Gabrielle Nguyen – 6th in Number Sense 4/5

These students were also a part of our strong state PSIA team:

  • Emmanuel Ankutse – Spelling 3
  • Adelle Cole – Ready Writing 3
  • Andrι Kuhn – Maps/Graphs/Charts 6-8
  • Josh Sass – Vocabulary 6

  • Natalie Williams – Poetry 7/8

Also qualifying for state but unable to compete because of illness:
