Class OfficersEach high school class elects officers that direct the activities of the class. They primarily plan specific social activities, service projects, and fundraisers that relate to their own class and support the efforts of STUCO.
Thespian SocietyThespian SocietyThe International Thespian Society, a division of the Educational Theatre Association, is the honorary theatre organization for students in high school. The ITS offers everything from varied performance venues, to college audition opportunities, to formal awards and scholarships. Since 1929, more than two million students, schools, and educators have benefited from ITS membership. For high school students, designated as those in grades 9-12, one point is equal to ten hours of excellent work. In order to be eligible for membership in his or her high school troupe, a student must obtain a minimum of ten points. In addition, these points must be earned in a minimum of two productions and must be from two different production areas (i.e., acting and stage management). Computer ClubComputer ClubBCS Computer Club is an educational organization dedicated to exploiting the rich and vast computer skills within and outside campus for the benefit of its members. This club is open to junior high and high school students. Computer club members meet after school at least once a week. Students DO NOT need to be a Computer Wiz to join this Club. Lessons range from basic Microsoft office applications to Programming classes (HTML, PHP, Perl and many more), other classes include computer hardware and software support, Movie making, FX and Graphic Design, Database usage, Web Development, Computer Engineering and Games. The knowledge base and the lessons offered will allow members to acclimatize to the technological changes. Photography ClubPhotography ClubPhotography Club is an extra-curricular organization open to freshmen through senior students interested in taking pictures. The group meets twice a month after school for about an hour. Meetings include viewing and critiquing each other's work, taking photographs, and short lessons on different functions or techniques that can be used to improve the quality of the images taken. Students have the opportunity to participate in two categories of the TAPPS art competition. Safety PatrolSafety PatrolThe mission of Safety Patrol at Brentwood Christian School is to lead fellow students to love God and foster safety while helping reinforce a Christ-centered environment in the school that emphasizes excellence. At the same time, Safety Patrols inspire others with their own example of God-given talents for Christian leadership and service.
Using Biblical principles, the Safety Patrol program trains students how to become authentic leaders. Their tenure in Safety Patrol at Brentwood Christian School is unique to other schools who also use the AAA sponsored Safety Patrol program.
This year’s class of 2009-2010 Safety Patrols and officers were sworn in by Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo in September. This ceremony is the spring board for the school year in Safety Patrol. Patrols contribute to the safer atmosphere on campus and enjoy benefits of their leadership training. The Fall Retreat provides patrols leadership training and fun recreation together.
The parents of our patrols are a huge part of the patrol family team. They are involved with our retreat and enjoy helping in many countless ways. Our moms and dads witness their sons and daughters mature as each of their patrols develop their spiritual leadership skills in the program here at school. Spiritual LifeSpiritual LifeThe Spiritual Life Committee (SLC) exists to glorify the name of Christ on the campus of Brentwood Christian School. Located in Austin, TX, the high school teens involved with the SLC have a passionate desire to bring God's presence to the city. We believe that a powerful way to accomplish this is by refocusing the rising generations of students upon the beauty of the Lord by firmly establishing His kingdom on our school's campus. ![]() The SLC is student lead with minimal faculty intervention. One of the main goals of the SLC is to put together a yearly Spiritual Emphasis Day on campus where all classes are cancelled and the day is spent in worship and prayer. Special guest speakers always inspire the students with their dynamic messages. The vision projected for the group is for it to grow into a close-knit body of brothers and sisters in Christ who are willing to stand for absolute truth against a deceitful world and hold one another accountable to living a lifestyle of worship in spirit and truth. * The SLC welcomes new members at any time throughout the year! * Anyone in the 9th through 12th grades is encouraged to come join us for one of our weekly Bible study and prayer meetings during high school lunch on Thursdays in room A130. |
