Jog-a-fun

SAVE THE DATE-MARCH 8 & 9
High School 5K will be run on Monday, March 8
Jog-a-fun will be run on Tuesday, March 9

Jog-a-fun, BCS' biggest annual fundraiser, is held each year during the first week of March. The money raised in this event is used to help pay for those costs that are not covered by tuition. Tuition covers approximately 80% of each student's education.

Students, faculty and staff send out sponsor letters at the beginning of January to request a pledge or donation for the laps they run, jog or walk during a thirty-minute period. There are rewards for submitting the sponsor letters (at least 20) by a deadline including a t-shirt and even a day off for the secondary students.

The goal is to raise money and have fun. And that all comes together on the day of Jog-a-fun due to a tremendous amount of work from many volunteers. Lots of moms and dads and grandparents are at the soccer field beginning at 8:00 a.m., cheering on their students and having a great time with lots of music and refreshments.

If you would like additional information on Jog-a-fun, please contact Donna Valdes, Director of Special Events, at (512) 835-5983, ext. 116.

Scripps National Spelling Bee

Scripps National Spelling Bee

All of our 1st-8th grade students have opportunity for academic enrichment as they initially compete in their individual classrooms by December. The school-wide Spelling Bee occurs in mid January. These winners proceed to compete with winners from area schools. Participation in the Scripps Spelling Bee helps inspire our students to exert additional effort toward improving their spelling and vocabulary skills.

National Geographic Bee

National Geographic Bee

The National Geographic Bee uses materials from the National Geographic Society. This contest is designed to encourage teachers to include geography in their classrooms, spark interest in the subject, and increase public awareness about geography. Our 4th – 8th grade students are eligible to compete in the Geography Bee on our campus each year.
