The Brentwood Christian School library media center functions as an integral part of the total educational process. It provides educational development that will produce in its students an awareness of responsibility and responsiveness to others in a Christ-centered academic environment that emphasizes excellence and inspires development of God-given talents for lives of Christian leadership and service.
I. To enrich and support the curriculum, taking into account the varied interests, abilities, and maturity levels of the pupils served.
II. To provide materials that will stimulate growth in factual knowledge, literary appreciation, aesthetic values, and ethical standards according to a Christian worldview.
III. To provide a background of information under Christian guidance which will enable students to make intellectual judgments in their daily lives.
IV. To provide materials of opposing viewpoints of controversial issues so that students may develop, under Christian guidance, the practice of critical reading and thinking.
V. To provide materials representative of many religious, ethnic, and cultural groups for reason of factual information and to understand their contribution to history and heritage.
