Brentwood takes advantage of several opportunities to engage in academic competitions that are helpful for our students realize their potential in such a way that they can identify, develop, and use their God-given gifts fully, to the glory of God.

Some of the academic competitions that Brentwood Christian School students may participate in during the school year are the following:

TCSA (Texas Christian Schools Association) Elementary Academic Meet: Elementary schools in this association rotate to different cities to allow 4th through 5th graders the opportunity to develop their learning and skills in oral and written events.

TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools): TAPPS holds competitions for students in grades 7-12 in art, vocal and instrumental music, and academics. Our high school academic, art, and vocal and instrumental music programs have all finished regularly in the top five schools in the state.  Both instrumental and vocal music programs have won state championships; the choir program has won the state championship eight times.  The academic team has never finished lower than second place and is the current reigning state champion.

TCSIT (Texas Christian Schools Interscholastic Tournament): TCSIT is a highlight of the spring semester for many students in grade 6-12, who compete in over 30 different events ranging from tests in all subject areas to dramatic interpretation and one-act play. Our high school has won the sweepstakes trophy the majority of the past 13 years, and our middle school team has won two sweepstakes trophies.

Texas Math League competition: Our students in upper elementary and secondary math classes take tests that pit their math abilities against others in the state on their grade level. In high school, results of monthly tests are posted on-line, and BCS students can see how they compare with area public and private school students.  Brentwood Christian has been among the top twenty schools in the state the past few years and has had some of the top individual students.

MATHCOUNTS: This event allows secondary students with special interest in mathematics to compete with other top students in the region.
