All coaches are required to participate in the classroom as a full-time teacher. Subject area will be determined based upon open positions and background.
REPORTS TO: Athletic Director/School Principal
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time; Exempt
SUMMARY: Responsible for oversight and coordination of volleyball program and coaching of the high school varsity team in accordance with Brentwood’s mission and core beliefs. Participate in the classroom as a teacher meeting and exceeding appropriate state and national standards for the subject and grade level.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coaching
• Supervision and instruction of volleyball student athletes during all team activities
• Compliance with all Brentwood, TAPPS and CAPPS policies and procedures
• Maintenance and inventory of program equipment and apparel
• Management and oversight of practice and competition schedules
• Coordinate and provide transportation to and from off campus competitions
• Supervision and management of assistant and sub-varsity coaching staff
• Oversee middle school volleyball program including procurement of coaching staff, tryouts and team assignments
• Management of the volleyball summer camps and summer workouts
• Support multi-sport participation for student athletes
• Commitment to participate in the classroom and be a presence on campus out of season
• Promotion of balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student athletes
Classroom Instruction
• Develop and implement informative and engaging lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the school’s curriculum program and reflect differentiation in student learning styles and abilities
• Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials and technology to engage students and increase understanding of the subject matter
• Integrate Biblical Christian perspective into curriculum and instruction while continuously serving as an example and positive role model for students
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for spiritual, physical and social development of students
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student progress including formative and summative data. Work with parents to improve student progress and address disciplinary issues.
• Work cooperatively with vertical team teachers to determine instructional goals, objectives and methods for student achievement. • Support and promote the mission and core beliefs of BCS

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree
• Must have 3+ years coaching at the high school or college level
• Must have a valid teacher certification or ability to obtain
• Prefer 1-3 years of experience teaching in a classroom
• Must be an active member of a Church of Christ congregation
• Must be 25 years of age with a valid commercial driver license (or ability to obtain) and an acceptable driving record
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and various educational software programs
• Excellent planning, attention to detail and organizational skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to demonstrate physical aspects of sport
• Must be able to lift over head

SUMMARY: Provide instruction for 6th – 12th grade art education that will meet and exceed appropriate state and national standards for the subject and grade level.

Transport students to and from school-sponsored events including sporting events, field trips, community service events and fine arts/academic competitions. Drivers will be compensated at $25 per hour. Parents of BCS students may earn VIP hours in lieu of monetary compensation.

Brentwood Christian School will cover the cost of obtaining a CDL for interested parties without a valid license. Licensure must be obtained within three months of acceptance.
