Cheryl Billante

Joined the Board in 2011

Cheryl Billante graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Harding University, a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and a Doctorate with an emphasis in Neurolaryngology from Vanderbilt University. She retired from biomedical research in the Vanderbilt Department of Otolaryngology in 2012. In addition to the BCS Board, Cheryl serves on the Executive Board for Lifeline Chaplaincy and Compassionate Touch. She and her family attend Round Rock Church of Christ. Cheryl and her husband, Mark Billante, are the parents of a Brentwood high school student.

Wade Benton

Joined the Board in 2016

Wade Benton is a Senior Manager with HNTB Corporation. He received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from The University of Texas. Wade and his family attend Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ. He and his wife Suzy Benton, a BCS elementary teacher, are the parents of two BCS high school students.

Royce Clark

Royce Clark is a Senior Manager with Dell, Inc. He received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Oklahoma Christian University and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas. Royce is a member of the Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ and has served on the board since 2002. He is married to Jennifer, and they are the parents of two BCS students and one graduate.

Kip Fluitt

Joined the Board in 2012

Kip is an Integrated Circuit Designer with Apple Inc. He holds an Associate of Applied Science from Texas State Technical College, a Bachelor of Arts from Abilene Christian University, and a Masters of Business Administration from Oklahoma State University. He and his family are members at Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ where Kip serves as a deacon. Kip and his wife Frances are the parents of two BCS students.

Brian Gruis

Brian Gruis is a member of Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ where he attends with his wife, Brandi, and two children, Adrie (16) a junior at BCS and Evan (13) an 8^th grader at BCS. Brian serves in the church’s home group and youth ministries and helps facilitate classes. Professionally he has been a business owner for 20 years working in real estate development, agriculture and solar projects in the Midwest, Canada and Austin area.

Pete Howell

Pete Howell is the owner of DentBusters, Inc. He attended Texas Tech University. A member at the Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ, he has served on the board since 2008. He is married to Melanie, director of the Children’s Ark Preschool, and they are the parents one BCS student and one graduate.

Brian Jackson

Joined the Board in 2007

Brian is a partner and co-owner of Jackson & Carter PLLC. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English from Abilene Christian University and received a Juris Doctor from the University of Houston School of Law. In addition to the BCS Board, Brian serves on the board of Helping Autism through Learning and Outreach. He and his family attend Round Rock Church of Christ. Brian and his wife, Kristi Jackson, are parents of three Brentwood students.

John Keesey

John Keesey is a State Police Captain with the Texas Attorney General’s Office.  He earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Southwest Texas State University.  John serves as a deacon at Westside Church of Christ in Round Rock.  He and his wife Dana are the parents of two children.  One is a BCS high school student and the other attends Lubbock Christian University.

Fred Strietelmeier

Joined the Board in 1996

Fred Strietelmeier is an Electrical Engineer retired from IBM. He received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and a Master’s of Electrical Engineering from Rice University. In addition to the BCS Board, Fred serves on the Board of Trustees at the Austin Graduate School of Theology. He and his family attend Westside Church of Christ. Fred and his wife, Sondra Strietelmeier, a former Fine Arts teacher at Brentwood, are the parents of a BCS graduate.

Brian White

Brian White is the Managing Partner of 9Gauge Partners, LLC, a management consulting firm. He earned a BBA degree in Accounting from Texas State University and is a licensed CPA in the state of Texas. He serves as a deacon at Westside Church of Christ in Round Rock and joined the BCS Board in 2016. He is married to Christie and they are the parents of two BCS students.

Jeri Birdwell is in her fourth year as a high school English teacher. Jeri holds a B.A. in English and a minor in German from the University of Texas. Jeri was named Teacher of the Year, 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 at Manor Excel Academy and was a 4-time recipient of the Teacher of the Month award while at Pflugerville High School. Jeri is a member of Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ.

Carolyn B’Smith is teaching third grade for the twenty-first year at BCS. She holds a B.A. from David Lipscomb University and has twenty-three years of teaching experience. Carolyn and her husband Kit are parents of two BCS graduates, and they attend the Westside Church of Christ, where Kit serves as an elder.

Cynthia Davis, who is now the MS Math teacher, holds a B.B.A. from ACU. She previously served as BCS director of admissions, special events, and fifth grade teacher and is now in her eighteenth year in the classroom. Cynthia and her husband Glenn are parents of a BCS graduate and a current student.  They attend Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ.

Evelyn Ellis, who now teaches fifth grade at BCS, has a B.S. in education from ACU. Evelyn has thirty-three years of teaching experience with thirty-two being in Christian education. Evelyn and her husband David are parents of two BCS graduates, and they attend Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ.

Britney Gittinger was previously a Kindergarten aide and is now teaching second grade.  She graduated from ACU with certification in Reading and Language Arts.  Britney is also a parent to two BCS students.

Brandon Greene is in his 2nd year at BCS, he is the Computer and Personal Finance Teacher.  He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas with a BS in Finance and Business Administration.  He also has a Master’s of Economics and coaches Boys Basketball.

Julie Ann Harper is in her 2nd year at BCS.  She is teaching Kindergarten and graduated from Harding University with a Bachelor in Early Childhood and a Masters in Reading.

Jimmie Harper is in his fifth year at BCS and teaches US History, World History and Bible. He holds a B.S. in social science from Harding University with a minor in Biblical studies.

Brooke Hollingsworth

Brooke Hollingsworth, in her ninth year at BCS, teaches math and Bible. She has a B.S. from Harding, an M.A. in theology from Austin Graduate School of Theology, and a Ph.D. in math from UT Austin. She and her husband Brent are parents of two BCS graduates.  They attend Westover Hills Church of Christ.

Carrie Hunter is teaching middle school social studies after eleven years at BCS as fifth grade teacher. She has a B.S. in Education from Oklahoma Christian and is certified in both elementary and secondary education. Carrie is a graduate of BCS and is in her thirteenth year of teaching.

Cynthia Hutson, K4 teacher previously taught second grade for eight years at BCS.  She holds a B.S. in elementary education from ACU and a master’s in education from Texas Woman’s University. Cynthia and her husband Darrell are parents of three BCS students and members of the Leander Church of Christ.

April Jones

April Jones is in her 2nd year at BCS and teaches fourth grade. She has a B.A in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Biblical Studies and Missions from Harding University. She also holds a Master’s in Reading.

Amber Kidd is returning to BCS as a third grade teacher.  She previously taught K4-8th grade computers and MS Math and at BCS.  Amber graduated from York College and the University of Phoenix.  She and her husband Josh worship at Westside Church of Christ where he serves as Minister of Youth.

Lori Nesslage serves as the Admissions Testing Coordinator and as a Teacher Aide in Elementary. Lori also served BCS for many years as a substitute before joining BCS on a permanent basis. Denise Redden, is in her sixth year at BCS with three years as an Elementary Teacher Aide in K4.  She is a graduate of Austin Graduate School of Theology and Polytechnic University of the Philippines. Denise and her husband, Justin, work for Village Christian Apartments, a non-profit ministry of the Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ, where they are also members. She and her husband have two current BCS students.

Diann Sloan, chemistry and physics teacher, holds a B.A. in chemistry from the University of California, Santa Cruz and a Ph.D in physical chemistry from UT. She and her husband Derrell are the parents of two current BCS students, and the family worships at Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ.

Amanda Stanglin is in her fourth year at BCS as elementary music and art teacher. She holds a B.A. in general studies from Harding University. Amanda and her husband, Keith, who is a professor at Austin Graduate School of Theology, are the parents of three current BCS students.  They attend Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ.

Diane Troutman, kindergarten teacher, has a B.A. in elementary education from Harding and has sixteen years of K-1 teaching experience at BCS. She and her husband Brant are parents of one current BCS students and one BCS graduate and attend Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ.

Lisa Warner

Lisa Warner serves as the drill team director and is in her third year at BCS. She also serves as the musical theater choreographer and Claw Crew sponsor. She holds a B.F.A. in Dance Education and M.Ed from Arizona State University. Post graduation, Mrs. Warner taught dance for the local high schools and served as guest choreographer for numerous high school programs and musical productions. Later, she served as an administrator at a high school and then a stay-at-home mom, but continued her passion for dance by teaching at local dance studios. She and her husband, Tom, are parents of three current BCS students who are all members of the Lady Bellas drill team. They attend First United Methodist Church of Round Rock.

Jonathan Weed serves as adviser for the school newspaper and teaches secondary social science.  He is in his twentieth year at BCS and is a BCS graduate.  He holds a B.A. in history from ACU and a B.J. in journalism from UT. He and his wife, Amber, are parents of two current BCS students and a preschool child.  They attend Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ.

Mary Kay Clark serves as the Administrative Assistant for the elementary office, gracing the office with her expertise and knowledge for her thirty-fifth year. She attends Cameron Road Church of Christ.

Ronnie Green is in his fifth year as an Extended Day Aide. Ronnie graduated from Southwestern University with a bachelor’s in music education. He had ten years of teaching experience before coming to BCS. Ronnie is a member of the Wheless Lane Church of Christ.

Penny Hagen

Penny Hagen is the Senior Executive Assistant in the administration offices and is in her twelfth year at BCS.  She is a member at Brentwood Oaks and is the Sophomore Class Sponsor.

Kathy Jones joined BCS in September of 2016. She is a grandmother to two BCS students.

Ariana Marks joined BCS last year as a part-time Campus Monitor.  She is a graduate of BCS and attends Concordia University.

Nancy Meyer, School Nurse, has her A.D.R.N. from Seminole College and is a certified emergency nurse with 26 years of experience. Nancy is in her fourteenth year at BCS. She and her husband, Russ, are parents of two BCS graduates and attend Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ.

Tori Penland joined BCS in 2015 as the Human Resources Generalist.  She has fourteen years of professional HR experience including twelve years in not-for-profit with The Blood and Tissue Center of Central Texas.  Tori holds a B.B.A. in Human Resource Management from ACU and is a Certified Benefit Professional, Professional, Professional in Human Resources, and Society of Human Resource Management. Tori is a member of Westover Hills Church of Christ.

Ben Sullivan joined BCS in 2015 as Campus Monitor.  In 2016, he accepted the position of End User Support, he is also the Safety Patrol Director. Ben is a graduate of Texas A&M University.

Angela Taylor is the accounting manager and is in her eleventh year at BCS. She holds a B.B.A. from the University of Texas and previously taught in the BCS Preschool. Angela and her husband David are parents of two BCS graduates. They attend Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ, where David serves as an elder.
