Cross Country

On October 23rd, BCS hosted the Tapps and Capps District meet, and all of our teams and runners did well. The high school girls’ team placed 2nd in the district! Individually, Katie Pittner placed 4th, and Macie Griswold placed 6th. The high school boys’ team also placed 2nd in the district. Individually, Renne Cooper placed 3rd, Jack Leidlein placed 5th, Rodrigo Real placed 9th, and Colton McLain placed 10th. The 7/8th grade girls’ team placed 1st in the district! Individually, Harper Counts placed 1st, Hailyn Counts placed 4th, and Lynden Worley placed 6th. The 7/8th boys’ team also placed 1st in the district! Individually, Nico Napper placed 3rd, Joshua Gonzales placed 6th, and Jacob Valladeras placed 10th. The 5/6th grade girls did well too! They placed 4th in the district, and Ella HInds placed 5th and Resse Smith placed 10th. What a great day for the cross country teams!

 

Volleyball

On October 14th, our Lady Bears Varsity volleyball team played against TMI and continued their winning streak. Scores were 26-24, 25-11, and 25-16. Ashlynn Alvarado had 14 kills and 11 digs, Aubrey Acheson had 9 kills and 26 digs, Rayen Flandes had 8 kills, 12 digs, and 12 assists, Ava Alvarado had 25 assists, 10 digs, and 4 kills, and McKenna Counts had 16 digs. This win tied the school’s win record of 31. The team’s overall record at this point is 31-6-1.

On October 19th, our Lady Bears Varsity, JV, and Freshman volleyball teams played against Hyde Park. Each team walked away with a win! During the Varsity Game, Aubrey Acheson had 13 kills and 14 digs, Ashlynn Alvarado had 12 kills, 14 digs, and 3 aces, Ava Alvarado had 5 kills, 19 digs, 15 assists, and 2 aces, Rayen Flandes had 5 kills, 16 digs, and 16 assists, Tynneson Allen had 3 kills and 2 blocks, Alicia Gardner had 3 blocks and 1 kill, and McKenna Counts had 10 digs. This win set a school record of 32 wins in a season. The team’s record is 32-6-1. The Freshman team had two games against Hyde Park, and won with scores of 25-22, 25-17, and 25-20, 26-10. Multiple girls played well. In the first game, Allie Landry earned 7 points in a row with serves and Elisha Burks earned 6 points in a row with serves. In the second game, Elisha Burks earned 8 points in a row to win the first set and Quinn Kirchoff had excellent net play and attacking. Great job, Freshmen! Our JV volleyball team also played well and won their game against Hyde Park with scores of 17-25, 25-15, and 15-12. Tori Koncaba scored eight points in a row in the second set, and earned three points in a row to serve out the third set. Additionally, Carina Combs scored six points in a row in set three. Amazing job, Lady Bears!
