Even during these uncertain times, our Bears and Lady Bears are doing great things! At the end of the year we had five student athletes sign on to play at the collegiate level. Typically we have a huge celebration on signing day. All 6th-12th grade students pack the stands in our athletic center, coaches give speeches, younger students are inspired, photos are taken, and cake is enjoyed by all but this year was a bit different.
In addition to our student signings, the Brentwood Christian School Football team was awarded the Tex Kassen Sportsmanship Award by the Austin Chapter of the National Football Foundation. This award is given to the team that shows exemplary conduct on and off the field. This is a huge honor for our Bears and our coaches! BCS is only the second private school to receive this award since 1997!

Jonah Connor – University of Mary Hardin Baylor – Soccer
According to the NCAA only about 1.3% to 2.7% of male high school soccer athletes go on to play at the collegiate level, and there are roughly 459,077 high school boys soccer players in the U.S. Way to go Jonah!
Kelli Tindel – Harding University – Soccer
According to the NCAA only about 1.9% to 2.9% of female high school soccer athletes go on to play at the collegiate level, and there are roughly 394,105 high school girls soccer players in the U.S. Way to go Kelli!
Taylor Warner – Texas State – Dance
Only about 10% of high school drill and dance students go on to dance in college. The Texas State Strutters have been on television shows including America’s Got Talent, and in a Coca-Cola commercial celebrating America’s bicentennial. They are featured in five motion pictures and performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade three times including last year. We know Taylor will make a perfect addition to this dance troupe!
